Championship records represent the fastest times recorded at a specific competition. In Otago, a database of championship records are managed for two competitions - the Otago Primary School Swimming Championships and the Otago Secondary School Swimming Championships. All Otago primary or secondary school students at these competitions are eligible to set a championship record, irrespective of whether they are currently a member of an affiliated Otago swimming club.
Championship records are not subject to the Otago Regional Records Policy.
